AI Review

Configure with .angada.yml

Set repository or organization defaults for AI Review with Angada's YAML policy file.

Use .angada.yml to set review behavior for a repository or GitHub organization. The file uses schema version 1; the options below are the ones the current reviewer consumes. The parser and export can include other schema fields that do not currently change a review.

version: 1
reviews:
  min_severity: high
  skip_drafts: true
custom_instructions: "Check authorization boundaries and error handling."
  ignore:
    paths:
      - "generated/**"
  noise:
    max_comments_per_pr: 8

Choose where the file applies

  • For one repository, commit .angada.yml at the repository root. Angada reads it from the pull request's head revision.
  • For an organization, commit .angada.yml in the organization's .github repository: <org>/.github/.angada.yml. Angada reads it from that repository's default branch.

The repository file takes precedence over the organization file, which takes precedence over workspace settings and built-in defaults, for each setting it provides. A missing or invalid value falls through to the next configured source. Workspace admins can lock repository overrides for minimum severity, draft handling, and auto-approval. A locked repository-file value is refused; the next available source or default supplies the setting.

For additional repository guidance, see Custom context. To export the current workspace settings, open Settings → Review and choose Copy config or Download .angada.yml. The export contains workspace settings and built-in defaults; it does not merge values from repository or organization policy files.

Diagnostics and fallback

Angada reports policy-file parse and schema errors on the review check with the file path, line, severity, and message. A value that fails parsing is not applied; other valid values can still take effect, and unresolved settings fall through to the next source or default. Refused locked values are also reported with the attempted key and value.
